Queensland Cricket has joined forces with Queensland-based sporting apparel supplier BLK for the 2016-17 season.

BLK will provide training apparel for the my FootDR Queensland Bulls, Konica Minolta Queensland Fire, Queensland Academy of Sport and Queensland Cricket Youth Pathway squads this summer as Queensland’s official team performance clothing supplier.

BLK outfit nearly 10,000 teams world-wide including rugby union, AFL, touch football, cricket and netball.

The Bulls and Fire squads recently received their pre-season clothing order, with Bulls coach Phil Jaques reporting high satisfaction levels from the players for the performance values of the apparel.

“It goes a long way in making our players and staff feel valued by providing fitted apparel that looks sharp and feels great while they are going through a tough pre-season,’’ he said. “We are all excited by the new partnership.”

The Bulls, under new strength and conditioning mentor Paul Chapman, are in a three-week training and playing block which features practice matches against South Australia, Tasmania, NSW and Papua New Guinea.

The Fire have also commenced practice matches in their pre-season, playing South Australia and Tasmania last weekend.

BLK has had a long association with cricket especially in Australia.

It was a sponsor and supplier of the KFC T20 Big Bash League for its first three seasons and has been a sponsor of Cricket Tasmania, WACA, SACA and NT Cricket associations.

It is a sponsor and supplier for Cricket Australia’s major domestic competitions such as the Sheffield Shield and Matador BBQs one-day Cup and Women’s National Cricket League.

BLK is also the official apparel brand of the International Cricket Council providing it with global cricket exposure.

BLK Chief Executive Officer Tyron Brant said the company looked forward to its association with another home-grown success.

“Being Queensland based, it gives us all great pride to finally have Queensland Cricket training and playing in BLK,’’ he said.

“We look forward to a long and successful journey and watching Queensland Cricket go #BeyondLimitsKnown.”
